We’ve known it could be possible for years… but hadn’t tried it yet until this past weekend.
Our raw (uncoated) and non insulated bottles (Bivo One Raw and Bivo Duo Raw) are purely a single wall of stainless steel, so it’s capable of conducting heat safely. Just like a stainless steel camping pot. But could we really use it just like a camping pot? I was waiting for the moment to put it to the test…
Last weekend, I set out on an overnighter on the Lake Champlain Islands. There’s a great state park in Grand Isle with perfect campsites for adventures.
All afternoon, I zoomed around the island on a ride, checking out the farm stands (hello, cinnamon rolls!) and pocket lake views around every corner.
All evening, I watched dozens of fireflies buzzing next to the fire pit. Perfect night! In the morning, I knew my moment had arrived. It was time for something I’d been waiting for the opportunity to try for a while. Can I boil water for my coffee in my Raw non-insulated Bivo?
I put my Bivo on top of my stove (honestly, I’ll admit the bottle was balancing a bit precariously so I was being careful), filled it with water and lit the flame!
Quickly, I realized it was working as little bubbles started bursting at the surface.
In just 3 minutes, I had a roaring boil of water and I was so excited!
Boiling water for coffee? Check :)

I used mine to make coffee but you can use it for ramen or really anything you need boiling water for! If you give this a try, send us photos or leave us a comment, as we’d love to see!
