Back in May, under the steaming Texas heat of Gravel Locos, I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Slagel, the Director of Wheels of Giving. Wheels of Giving is an incredible organization raising awareness about diabetes and promoting health through movement and education.
To advance healthy hydration habits, Bill collaborated with our team to make 250 custom Wheels of Giving bottles. Charlotte, who heads up our custom bottle program, worked with Bill on a design and ensured the laser-etched logo looked perfect. On the back of the bottle, Bill wanted an image of the A1C test, which is important in helping identify prediabetes and give people a sense of their blood glucose levels.

At their event in Dallas, a few days after Gravel Locos, Bill chose to give every bottle away to attendees, not just as raffle prizes. He wants everyone to have a healthy bottle in their hands – a bottle that leads to a better lifestyle. His belief: with a good bottle, people are less likely to stop and grab a Coke or sweet drink. It's just an amazing story of generosity. Bill hopes more people can experience our bottles.
I spent some time volunteering at the Wheels of Giving Event and it was heartwarming to see the bottles supporting people in staying healthy and active. The event was fantastic – families enjoyed meals from food trucks, learned about diabetes, entered raffles, chatted, relaxed, and, of course, received their custom Bivo bottles for completing their rides! It felt so good to be part of something so meaningful.
